There's no penalty for dying is a meme created by Fullmetal when he was playing Amnesia: The Dark Descent with PatPeter for the first time (and PatPeter's fourth or fifth). About 75% through the game, Fullmetal realized that there is no penalty for dying, so instead of frightfully progressing through the game, he screamed, "There is no penalty for dying!" and blitzed his way to the end of the game.
