A block check is a check done by a member to test whether he or she is muted by another member, which violates Law #4. A member of the Triumvirate must oversee a block check.

How to block check

  1. A member of the Triumvirate will have the allegedly muted member announce "block check" in a clear, concise voice.
  2. The allegedly muted member will issue a phrase and ask the suspected muting member to repeat three times, in a clear, concise voice while uninterrupted by other members.
  3. The member of the Triumvirate will ask the suspected muting member if that member heard anything. If the suspected muting member did not hear the allegedly muted member, that member is muted and the muting member must be kicked.
  4. If the suspected muting member responded to the allegedly muted member at any point in time, the block check failed.

Exceptions

Members of |UGA| can, however, lower the volume of another member. This may be because the other member is a loud individual or raging (the latter of which is grounds for a kick). Members who lower the volume of other users must raise the volume of that user if the lowered member directly engages the volume-lowering member.

In addition, members are allowed to block or mute other members in response to any violation of Law #3. The only way to shut down a troll is to stop feeding a troll, and therefore mute that troll. However, keep in mind that Law #3 pertains to direct ill will on another member. Abuse of this exception will be considered either disrespect or trolling, depending on the circumstances, and will result in punishment.
